School Events

RealEyes is an educational program offered through the Ohio Optometric Association. Doctors and their staff volunteer their time to present fun and engaging programs to students in grades K thru 8. Recently Dr. Kolodziejczyk presented to students at Bataan Elementary School in Port Clinton. If you are interested in a presentation contact our office (419) 334-8121 or for more information visit http://www.ooa.org/aws/OOA/pt/sp/realeyes

Each year the Eye Centers of Northwest Ohio proudly participates in the Walk to School initiative with Gibsonburg Schools. This event first held in 1997 has grown into a movement.  We love to interact with the kids and watch all the kids with their teachers and parents.

It’s a very festive environment that brings out many groups and organizations. We have been privileged to witness members of the local fire department give tours of their trucks,  Fremont Promedica Hospital team leaders putting the children through basic exercises and the Red Cross passing out helpful information.

Using a corn hole board we like to teach the kids the difference between binocular and monocular vision. It’s a fun and interactive way to show them some of the neat things the eyes can do.

Community Outings

If you are a member of Golden Threads at Fremont Promedica Hospital then you know all about the Health Fair held annually at Ole Zimms’ Wagon Shed in Gibsonburg. This event draws over 300 seniors annually and presents topics important to them. We have been proud to be a sponsor of this event for the last five years. Along with the goodies we get to give away, at least one of our physicians comes out to talk with those who stop by our booth.  This year Dr. Kolodziejczyk manned the table for a few hours and spoke to many people about eye health, answered questions on eye diseases and collected quite a few hugs from many of his patients. This senior fair is our favorite one that we attend and are excited to join Annette and all the other wonderful Golden Thread members next May.

One of the things we love to do is educate about eye health and safety. Dr. Kolodziejczyk recently spoke to a group of employees at Crown Battery. A lot of great questions was asked, it was an enjoyable time. If you are interested in having one of our physicians speak to your group contact our office, (419)334-8121
