Our company strives to do good in the communities in which we operate. Whether it's sponsoring the local sports team, volunteering to serve breakfast for one of the civic groups or helping that young scout raise funds to complete an Eagle Scout project we enjoy giving back.
One of our favorite things to do is go out an about within those communities. Fortunately, we have the opportunity to leave the office several times a year and do some fun and educational things. Several of our doctors volunteer to conduct vision screenings for those incoming kindergartners. Using the Real Eyes curriculum they go into schools and put on a fun program about eyes and vision for kids in first up to eighth grade. It helps the kids to not be afraid of the eye doctor, educate them and maybe identify students who may be having problems.
Corporate screenings is another way our doctors support our local community. Teaming with local manufacturers our physicians go to the company and screen employees. Employees vision, color perception, eye pressure and stereo vision is tested and each employee is presented with a personalized result.
Health fairs are by far our favorite event to attend. These events allow us to truly interact with the public. It's at these events we are able to answer questions, get feedback and talk with our patients. This month we have the fortune of being able to attend two such events.
On May 18th we will be at Stacys Place in Fostoria. This annual event is open from 10am to 1pm and lunch is being sponsored by John Irwin from Edward Jones. There are over 50 vendors and more than 300 are expected. On May 25th we will be out at Ole Zimms in Gibsonburg. More then 325 seniors are registered to attend. This event is always informative and a lot of fun. Lunch will be served.
So, if you find yourself out stop by and say hi...
